A genuinely new name has gone up on our board, and for once the paperwork arrived ahead of the noise. Betty, a casino brand built in Ontario, now sits behind a live Great Britain licence. We read it off the register rather than off anybody’s announcement, because those are two different documents and only one of them is the regulator’s.

Here is what the Commission’s entry for account 100695 states, as of this writing. The licensed company is Betty Gaming (Malta) Limited, head office at Quantum House, Ta’ Xbiex. It holds two remote licences, Casino and Linked Gambling Software, both recorded as active with a start date of 1 April 2026. One trading name is recorded: betty. Two domain names are listed against the account, betty.com and playbetty.co.uk, both active. Premises: none. Regulatory actions: none recorded.

That is a clean entry, and it is worth being precise about what a clean entry is and is not. It is the regulator’s record that this company is licensed to offer these activities to people in Great Britain. It is not an endorsement, a quality mark, or a verdict. The Commission licenses operators; it does not recommend them.

Separately, on the company’s side of the ledger, trade coverage reports that Betty secured its UK operating licence and planned to go live on 1 June 2026 subject to regulatory clearances, that Adele Baker leads the UK business as chief executive, and that group chief executive Justin Park set out the expansion during a Q1 2026 investor update. The same reporting has Betty launching in Ontario’s regulated market in February 2023 and operating a decentralised franchise structure introduced in 2025. Those are statements of intent and history, not entries on a register, and we file them as exactly that — a planned date is not an achieved one.

Two facts sit side by side without contradiction: the licensed entity is Malta-registered, and the brand is Canadian in origin. Neither one tells you anything about how the site treats a customer.

What remains outstanding is everything our checklist actually grades — whether the licence number is stated plainly on the site, whether deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion are live and findable on day one, and whether payment and verification terms are published rather than promised on request. Nobody has habits with a brand-new casino yet, the casino included, which is precisely why the limits worth setting are the ones you set before the first deposit rather than after it. 18+.

We will run the full door check when there is a door to check. The register entry is where we started, which is where we would tell any reader to start.
